Part 3 of our journey into the world of vitamins and supplements was a quick look at the acid test – alkaline or acid?
Here’s the alkaline test in a more scientific vein. There’s a bit of scientific lingo here that some dieters might find helpful.
When we consume foods that are alkaline, they generally have a pH between 7 and 8. They also generally have a high concentration of water in them (alkaline water). When we consume foods that are acidic, they are generally between zero and hydrogen than they are alkaline.
That last bit is important. When we consume acidic calories, it ranges from being harmful to neutral. In the case of our favorite afternoon snacks, which are all slightly acidic, they can cause as much harm to us as eating them.
That all important balance that keeps our body functioning at home by bringing in nutrients and minerals from the foods we eat while keeping out acid by creating a slightly alkaline environment in our bodies. That proper pH level is essential for good health.
That’s one part of the alkaline test. Now comes the pH test.
This examination looks at the amount of acidic and alkaline pedals in the body. It alsoARDisks. Basically, it assesses the degree to which our bodies are able to handle stress.
Here’s the normal pH levels from the normal pH chart.
Laboratory pH
This chart shows the pH levels for a range of human tissues. The pH scale is from zero to fourteen. This means that the scale ranges from zero to seven hundred parts per trillion.
This scale is useful for understanding the acidity of a body’s PH levels. The pH value for blood plasma is approximately 7.2. This means that if the blood plasma is seven parts per trillion or less in alkaline conditions, it will be considered acidic.
Therefore, the normal pH levels for the various parts of the body are:
Pollution, like chemical and PH pollution, contributes to the pH decrease. People are wanting more acidic conditions. There is a concern that people are not getting enough alkaline diets. While there may be a consumption of acidic foods, the overall levels of acidity contribute to overall health decline.
There is the general decline in the health of our teeth and bones. There is the general decline in mental sharpness and physical ability. There is the general decline in longevity. Scientific research is now producing evidence of general decline on almost all fronts. However, this general decline does not equate to say that people are growing progressively weaker.
It is also known that due to the consumption of acidic diets and only aiding with alkaline foods, the production of collagen is decreased. Collagen is the very building block of bones, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, skin, and blood vessels. In other words, as people get older and especially dangerous, their collagen production periiods tend to decrease. This production of collagen tends to decline more in people that engage in inflammatory behavior.
An alkaline diet is therefore important to support overall collagen production. With this in mind, it is now clear that a complete change in diet aids in replenishing the levels of nutrients that are lost on a daily basis due to the acidic conditions in which the foods we consume come across.
Oenzyme Q10
O The body produces an enzyme called “omega-3 fatty acid dehydrate” which allows the body to produce and sustain an ample supply of omega-3 oils. This enzyme is in greatest abundance in Olive oil.
O This enzyme can also be called “omega-3 acid nutritive substance” and has been called a “miracle nutrient”. It has been proven to be helpful to many people with many problems.
O For example, research has shown that this enzyme slows down (but does not cure) schizophrenia. Omega 3’s contribute to heart health. They also decrease blood pressure, and help prevent blood clots and lower cholesterol.
O According to many scientists, the omega 3 oils are very useful in combating depression.
O It has also been reported that there is a decrease of 10% in the incidence of ADHD in children and 14% in adults.
Fish
Fish provides a high source of omega-3 fatty acids, primarily due to their high content of “good fats”. Other sources of omega 3’s include flaxseed oil, hemp oil, soya oil, walnuts, and fish oil.
People who do not consume enough fish or these high-quality supplements often turn to other sources for relief of their ADHD symptoms.
Unfortunately, these sources do not provide the same benefit as fish and are instead far more dangerous to your health.
